I am a proud Liberty University graduate, a cancer survivor, and a lifelong lover of the written word. The smell and texture of antique paper, the tactile satisfaction of pen meeting paper—these are the small joys that inspire my work. My bookworm tendencies are no secret to my friends and family; for Christmas 2024, they indulged my passion with six exquisite writing journals and four sets of classic pens.
After more than two decades of navigating the intricate world of litigation as a paralegal, I am embarking on an exciting new chapter: transitioning into the writing and editing field with a freshly earned degree in English Writing. My goal is to marry my extensive legal expertise with a creative passion for storytelling, producing content that is not only accurate and impactful but also engaging and resonant.
I bring to the table a unique combination of skills: an analytical mind sharpened by years of legal work, creative versatility honed through writing poetry, fiction, and prose, and practical experience managing my own blog. Self-taught in SEO, I have mastered the art of crafting content that captivates readers while driving traffic and maximizing visibility.
Now, I am enthusiastically seeking freelance writing opportunities where I can channel this rich blend of experience into creating compelling, well-researched content across various platforms. Whether it’s grant writing, technical content, creative prose, or editing manuscripts, I am dedicated to delivering work that exceeds expectations and leaves a lasting impact.

Senior Litigation Paralegal for over 20 years with Ferguson, Rawls & Raines, PC in Suffolk, VA. Where I have prepared pleadings, correspondences, schedules, trial exhibits, trial research, jury instructions, and briefs for simple cases to major complex cases.
Through the years my specialty has evolved from Domestic and Criminal Law to that of General Practice and Civil Litigation. If it heads to trial it is on my desk.
As a paralegal, I have utilized persuasive language, my copywriting and marketing skills, and my proofreading and editing prowess.
I have been blessed with opportunities to put my creative "word juggling" skillset to use.
After successfully surviving cancer in 2018, I created Blessings From Cancer, a blog that detailed the journey of survivorship while providing readers with hope and guidance for their cancer journeys.
Creating the blog allowed me an opportunity to grow as a writer and to develop SEO skills, marketing skills, and to put my social networking/communications knowledge to use. Those skills helped grow a personal blog from 0 views per post to over 500 views per post in the first three months. The blog has over 5000 subscribers.
Through my connections with the blog, I began a guest-writing partnership with Vessels for Gog (V4G Ministries). I contribute to their social media marketing and write two articles per month for their website. Their website analytics report that my articles and social media marketing campaigns increase viewership by an average of 25%.
